Course Description

 

Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology, blood collection procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and clinical training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. 

Learner Outcomes

Students will demonstrate a professional demeanor with staff and patients, utilizing appropriate body language, verbal communication, and ethical conduct. They will excel in working effectively under pressure and develop patience and sensitivity in their interactions. Students will exhibit proficiency in accurate venipuncture collection techniques, gaining confidence in drawing and processing blood specimens.
